If you have any trouble, please fill out the contact form for assistance.

You may wish to have the Decor theme demo open, for reference, while setting up your theme. The setup documentation for this theme has been broken down into the following sections:

How to Configure the Featured Images
How to Configure the Menus
How to Configure the Signup Widget
How to Configure The 411 Widget
How to Select the Color Scheme
How to Configure the Social Media Icons

How to Import Demo Content

For your convenience, an export file of the Demo site is available to assist in the setup of your Decor theme. You’ll find more information about this in the Importing Demo Content tutorial.

This theme is a standard blog layout, with the 3 column theme layout option chosen, with a few additional features.

How to Configure the Featured Images

By default WordPress will create a default thumbnail image for each image you upload and the size can be specified in your dashboard under Settings > Media. In addition, the Decor child theme creates the following featured image of 730px by 285px, which is defined (and can be modified) in the functions.php file. This is the recommended image size that is used on the Decor child theme demo site.

The date above the post shows when a featured image is used.

How to Configure the Menus

For this theme, we disabled the Primary and Secondary navigation bars under Genesis -> Settings -> Navigation Settings.

We then set up a third menu under Appearance -> menus, and used the Custom Menu widget in the Header Right area with this menu selected.
