You may wish to have the Mocha theme demo open, for reference, while setting up your theme.

Out of the box, this theme requires little setup.

The Primary navigation area is above the header. To the right of the header, we used the Custom Menu widget to display more navigation. Please the tutorial on how to use menus.

The posts on the front page use the Grid Loop. This is code that can be modified in the home.php file in the theme folder. See the Grid Loop page for further details.

The featured images are displayed as soon as you upload an image to your post. Edit the post. Click the image upload button. The image must be listed in the Gallery tab. Uploading an image while editing your post creates an association in the db whereby WP sees the image as “attached” to the post. It does not have to be inserted in the post itself.

To change color styles, visit Genesis -> Settings -> Color Styles and choose the alternate color scheme from the drop down.

We used the Simple Social Icons plugin for the social media icons.

Congratulations! You are now ready to begin adding content and personal touches to your new Mocha and Genesis powered website. If you run into any problems along the way or have questions, please fill out the contact form and let us know how we can help.
