Customize the Credits Text

Unless otherwise indicated, the code snippets you see below should be placed into your theme’s functions.php file.

The snippet below may be used to customize the credit text in the site footer.

Notes:

  • As of Genesis 3.1, this code snippet is no longer needed. Instead, the footer credit text can be edited in Appearance > Customize > Theme Settings > Footer. See Genesis Theme Settings for more details.
  • The code snippet shown below can only be used on sites using Genesis 3.0.x and older. Also, after upgrading to Genesis 3.1.x and above, this snippet must be removed from the child theme. The footer credits can then be edited in Appearance > Customize > Theme Settings > Footer, as mentioned above.
