Customize the Site Footer

Unless otherwise indicated, the code snippets you see below should be placed into your theme’s functions.php file.

As of Genesis 3.1, the site footer text can be edited in Appearance > Customize > Theme Settings > Footer. See Edit the Entry Meta and Footer Text with Genesis for more details.

However, if you’re using an older version of Genesis, or if you need to replace the whole footer, including the HTML markup (instead of just editing the paragraph text), you will need to add this code snippet to your child theme’s functions.php file.
