Which StudioPress Sites
Plan is Right for You?

Take a look through the customer profiles we’re working with below (names have been
changed), and use their actual experiences to easily choose the plan that works best for you …

Content

  • Andy fitness blogger

I’ve been a fitness blogger for a few years, with a mostly content-based site that’s currently hosted on WordPress.com. I have dabbled in affiliate marketing.

I really want to move my site to a self-hosted WordPress plan of some kind, but I’m very nervous about the technical requirements to do so. Mainly, I’d like to be able to build a really great looking blog, where I can write a lot (using cool photos in my posts) and promote all of my social media accounts.

Andy needs a great-looking blog, lots of space for his photos, and a sign-up form that works and is easy to set up.

  • Bob dry cleaning shop owner

Well, right now I just need to set up my first website 😉 I don’t know much about how this WordPress thing works, but I’d like to do it in a way that doesn’t take too much time or hassle. I run a dry cleaning shop in my town, and that keeps me very busy. Really, I just need a good-looking website that will help local people find me.

I guess there could come a time when I could start a simple blog, but that’s not a priority right now. I hear about “SEO” and being able to read the website on mobile phones, so as long as that’s taken care of for now, I’m good.

Bob needs a simple, but attractive website that isn’t difficult to set up and looks great on mobile devices. In the future he may want to add a blog.

  • Ravi online marketer

I’m taking over the marketing (and therefore, website management) for my family’s restaurant, and I basically need to start from square one. I’d like to be able to easily edit it and update our menu, offer a simple email list sign up, make sure it looks great on mobile devices, and integrate with Google Analytics.

The one big idea I have right now is to get customers on our email list so that I can easily offer coupons and discounts, and let them know about special events. For the coupons, I want to print out cards with unique tracking codes that our customers can then redeem on our website. Oh, and I really need to be able to integrate with Open Table.

Ravi needs a beautiful but simple website to promote his restaurant. He needs a simple email list signup form and mobile responsive design.

  • Diane website designer

I build and sell StudioPress-based themes for my clients (as an affiliate, of course), and though business is booming, I find the process of handing over my designs to my clients a complete chore. I’m looking for a secure and reliable managed hosting platform that offers an affiliate program and doesn’t frustrate my clients.

I want to grow my business to provide site maintenance, but I don’t want to manage WordPress or Genesis updates. I’d like to be able to automate updates and not have to worry about logging into each of my client sites.

Diane needs a portfolio site and the ability to create and easily hand off designed sites to her clients.

  • Felicity food blogger

I’m an up-and-coming food blogger (wow, the last year has been awesome for my traffic!) who usually posts about two photo-heavy articles per day. Recently, I’ve been seeing some real revenue success with affiliate marketing, and I’d like to double down on that in the coming months.

Really, I just don’t want any headaches with WordPress or hosting as I grow. I’ve got my editorial calendar down, and I want to keep working that — along with my affiliate plan — without having to think or worry about the technical stuff at all. I’m a serious publisher, not a genius tech nerd!

Felicity wants a beautiful (yet simple) site design with a photography and content focus. She doesn’t want to concern herself with the technical aspects of online publishing.

  • Patty professional life coach

I’m a professional life coach who’s been publishing seriously online for eight years. I’ve published multiple ebooks, produce a podcast, run a strong email list, and recently added a membership site to my offerings.

I’ve been having more and more issues with my site’s uptime lately, something that my designer (also my developer, also my fiancé) is helping me with … but it’s becoming too complicated for him. I badly need better site uptime, as well as have room to grow without paying an arm and leg, and without any worries about trying to keep it all together.

Patty needs a membership site, a forum for her audience to engage in, and reliable podcast hosting.

  • Maggie membership site owner

I run a heavily trafficked and content-heavy membership site that teaches people how to dress based on their personality. My email marketing is powerful and complex, I use Infusionsoft to run that. I give away ebooks and produce webinars to attract potential members. Though my experience has been OK, I’m starting to be concerned with my site’s uptime and the potential for getting hacked.

I’ve got big plans for adding a community forum and paid private coaching to my offering this year, and I’d like to experiment with online quizzes and even more unique content as an attraction strategy. I’m also planning a complete redesign, so it’s important that I’m working with a platform that’s accessible to a designer and developer.

Maggie runs a popular membership site, a complex email funnel, and wants to expand even further with online quizzes and a community forum.

  • Miguel musician

I’m a musician who relies heavily on YouTube and SoundCloud, so first off, I’d need to be able to embed those players in my posts. I’ve also got a MailChimp email list that I use to let fans know about my upcoming gigs and new releases. Oh, and I have a pretty big photo gallery of live shows and brooding portraits in front these beautiful brick walls 😉

The main thing I want to do as soon as possible is to start selling digital downloads of my work. I’ve heard about the WooCommerce and Easy Digital Downloads plugins, but I’m not sure how to get those hooked up to my site. The main thing there would be to easily be able to offer a “pay what you want” model.

Miguel needs to be able to sell digital downloads, publish lots of hi-res photos, and integrate with YouTube and SoundCloud.

  • Cathy ecommerce site owner

I’ve been selling my own line of greeting cards on Etsy for a couple of years now and it’s been going great, but it’s way past time to move on. I really want to own my own customer base and not be reliant on a middleman sales platform.

I basically need a new site (and design) where I can write content to bring in new customers, convert them to an email list, and — here’s the main thing — sell my own cards on my own site!!! As excited and ready as I am to do this, I’m also very worried about transferring all of my information from Etsy, and the shipping aspect of this. I also have a TON of photos on my site, obviously.

Cathy wants a brand new photo-heavy eCommerce site to sell her greeting cards, and integration with her email list.

  • Ronald real estate agent

I’m a Real Estate Agent who is extremely active in my local community. I’ve got a pretty simple website right now, that actually does fairly well in terms of traffic, but keeps crashing for some reason that I’m not able to determine.

I want to build the most useful and powerful hyperlocal “online lifestyle magazine” site in my area. I need to do this now, but I don’t have the time to do it myself. It would obviously need a newsletter component, but also the ability to add an IDX plugin in the future. Out-of-the-box SEO and responsive design are a must.

Ronald needs to integrate with email and an IDX plugin for his new content and photo based hyperlocal site.

Absolutely, that’s what our Commerce Plan is for. With our standard one-click plugin install, you’ll be able to easily create a membership site and sell memberships, no hassle included.

  • What do I do with my domain?

We don’t sell domains, so if you don’t have one already, you’ll need to take care of that. Click here to check out a few domain registrars we trust. Once you’ve got your domain, follow the simple instructions in your StudioPress Portal to hook things up.

  • Are the “included” plugins free?

Some of the plugins we’ve partnered with are free, some are not. We’ve just made it very simple — one-click simple — to set up a powerfully functional site with the plugins we believe are the best in the business. And yes, all of our partner plugins are available in both the Content and Commerce plans.

  • Do you automatically update the included plugins?

No. We provide an easy one-click install of recommended plugins, but you are responsible for the updates of those plugins (including other plugins that you may add in the future).

  • Do you offer SSL certificates?

Yes. We offer free, automated digital SSL certificates through Let’s Encrypt.

  • Can you help me move/migrate my existing WordPress site?

Moving your existing content to StudioPress Sites can be done seamlessly, in just a few steps. Here are two options that will help …

    Fantasktic:
We’ve partnered with the good folks at Fantasktic to provide an incredible discount to StudioPress Sites customers ONLY. You could call this the “no-hassle” option. Just give Fantasktic some basic information, and they’ll take you through the process. These people have truly made migrations easy.

    WordPress Migration Plugins:
If you’re a bit more advanced in your knowledge of how WordPress and content migrations work, you can also check out the two WordPress migration plugins we recommend. One is a paid plugin, and the other is completely free of charge. Just remember: you’re on your own if you choose this route!

  • What if my site takes off and I get a ton of traffic/users/downloads?

After you’ve chosen your plan, don’t worry about things like RAM, GB, and bandwidth … we’re not going to nickel and dime you for overages. Ever. Here’s the thing, if you choose the Content plan and your site grows to a point that it needs more resources, we’ll let you know when it’s time to upgrade your plan.

  • Will my site be able to handle eCommerce?

With our Commerce Plan and standard one-click plugin install, you’ll be able to easily manage just about any aspect of eCommerce you can dream up, no hassle included.

  • Which StudioPress themes are included in my StudioPress Sites purchase?

You’ll have instant access to 20 StudioPress themes when you purchase any StudioPress Sites plan, including: Altitude Pro, Atmosphere Pro, Author Pro, Brunch Pro, Daily Dish Pro, Digital Pro, Executive Pro, Foodie Pro, Gallery Pro, Infinity Pro, Lifestyle Pro, Magazine Pro, Maker Pro, Metro Pro, News Pro, Parallax Pro, Showcase Pro, Smart Passive Income Pro, Wellness Pro, Workstation Pro.

You’ll be able to use any of these themes on your StudioPress Site for as long as you’re a StudioPress Sites customer.

  • How do I cancel my account?

If, for any reason, StudioPress isn’t your thing, you can easily cancel at anytime, with just a few clicks inside your account portal.

  • How many sites can I have per plan?

Each StudioPress Sites plan that you purchase includes one website, complete with all of the features you see discussed on this page. So, if you have a need for two websites (either new, or to migrate), you’d purchase the appropriate StudioPress Sites plan for each of those sites.

  • What about security and site backups?

Beyond the rock-solid security features built into the Genesis Framework, our very architecture is expressly designed to maximize security and performance. This includes intrusion prevention, continuous scanning and monitoring for malware, distributed denial of service (DDoS) protection, and much more. In addition, your site is completely backed up on a daily basis, so you know that all of your data is secure.

  • Can I install any plugin or theme, or just the ones available through 1-click install?

You can install any WordPress plugin or theme on your site, as long as it does not threaten the stability or security of the server. If we see an issue we’ll let you know!
